Has The FBI Been Misleading Us About Active Shooter Statistics? It's Time For The Truth To Be Told.

For years, the FBI has been telling the American people that civilians are largely powerless to stop active shooters. They've claimed that armed citizens are only able to stop these attacks less than 5% of the time.

But a new report from the Crime Prevention Research Center (CPRC) headed by Dr. John Lott, reveals that this number is massively inaccurate. In reality, the number of times civilians have stopped active shooters is closer to 34.4%. And in 2021, it's already at 49.1%.

Read the CPRC's Original research data and methodology here. Make sure to bookmark and visit the CPRC site for statistics and facts many mainstream sources omit or find too difficult to examine.

These numbers are even higher when you exclude gun-free zones—areas where guns are banned, and only criminals are armed. When you look at data from these areas, the number jumps to over 50%. That's right—in places where good guys are allowed to carry guns, they stop active shooters more than half the time.

What is the incentive for the FBI to misreport these numbers? It's hard to say for sure. But what we do know is that this information is vital for Americans to have. After all, we're told that there's nothing we can do to stop an active shooter unless we ban all guns. Short of that, then we might as well just give up and accept our fate. But the fact is that civilians ARE stopping these attacks—and they're doing so more often than the FBI wants us to believe.

Armed citizens have always been our first line of defense against crime. And in active shooter situations, they're often the only ones who can put an end to the violence quickly enough to save lives. The longer we allow the spread of false information about armed civilians, the more innocent people will become victims of active shooters.

It's time for the truth to be told. The American people deserve to know that we have the power to stop active shooters—we just need to be armed and prepared to do so.

The next time you hear someone claim that "an armed citizen wouldn't be able to stop an active shooter" or that "the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a policeman with a gun," don't believe them. The FBI and the media have been misleading us about Active Shooter statistics for years, and it's time for the truth to be told. Armed citizens ARE stopping these attacks—and they're doing so more often than anyone realized. So let's arm ourselves and prepare to defend our lives and our loved ones—because it's clear that the government isn't going to get there in time to do it for us.

CORRECTION:

Previously, the first sentence in the last paragraph read, "The next time you hear someone claim that "an armed citizen wouldn't be able to stop an active shooter," or that "the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun," don't believe them." It has been corrected to read as it is now written above.
