LASR uses a variety of things within Windows, and if Windows is not kept up to date, some functions may not work correctly. Make sure you are running Windows Update. This is especially true for computers that don't connect to the internet very often, aren't allowed to shut down correctly (i.e. emulators), or have Windows Update turned off.

Please manually check for and install updates until Windows Update says there are no updates available AFTER actually clicking on "Check for Updates". You may need to do this more than once.
